This site is designed as an archive resource for visitors interested in the sculpture and art of John Bunting.

John Bunting built a War Memorial Chapel at Scot's Corner, close to Hambleton, above Oldstead, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.  Visitors are welcome.

Chapel Open Day

The chapel, being a rural and outdoor location, is COVID compliant though subject to local lock downs should they be announced. The site will be open to the public in 2021 on:

Sunday 25th April, Sunday 20th June and Sunday 29th August; If you wish to visit outside these dates please email us and we will try to accomodate your plans.

For directions - location here.  The site is not accessible by car.  Visitors are recommended to park by the road between Hambleton and The Yorkshire Gliding Club and to walk the 800m along old drovers road to the chapel.

The Good Samaritan

Carved in elm in 1961, a single bronze cast has been taken, which is situated outside the Monastic entrance to the North Transept at Ampleforth Abbey
